An Easter word search is a great game that you can print out and put inside a greeting card to celebration the season. A word search can make an interesting addition to a church bulletin or paper placemat at the Easter Sunrise breakfast. Children can enjoy an Easter word search during the days ahead of an anticipated egg hunt. You can make an Easter word search appropriate for the religious aspect of the holiday with words such as "tomb," "resurrection," "cross," "palms" and "scriptures." A novelty puzzle can include words like "egg," "basket," "chick," "bunny" and "spring," just to name a few.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Graph paper
  • Printer/scanner
  1. Step 1

Make a list of the Easter-related words you want to use for the Easter word search. Double-check that each word is spelled correctly by referring to a dictionary or a word processor's spell checker. Use 12 to 20 words for children and 30 or more words for an adult word search.

  2. Step 2

Use a pencil to print the longest word on graph paper. Put one upper case letter at a time in a single square on the paper.
Print the word on the diagonal or backward for a challenge.

  3. Step 3

Print all of your words on the graph paper. Print them horizontally, vertically, diagonally, forward or backward for a variety. Be sure to mark off each word as you enter it on the Easter word search.

  4. Step 4

Trace over each word when they are all entered into the word search with a black ink pen.

  5. Step 5

Scan and print off the Easter word search that you have filled in so far. This will be the answer key.

  6. Step 6

Fill in all the empty squares on the graph paper within the word search with random letters using a black ink pen.

  7. Step 7

Decorate the word search sheet with clip art or Easter stickers. Stencil or hand-print a title at the top of the sheet.

  8. Step 8

Write all of the words at the bottom or side of the puzzle for the word search clues. Scan and print copies of the sheet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to double-check that no inappropriate words show up as you make your word search. This could be embarrassing at a church function.
