Step 1
clear glass containersPurchase two glass containers. Walmart or craft stores have great selections on clear glass vases and other containers. Be sure one is larger than the other.
-
Step 2
man made sea glassPurchase, or collect, items you wish to add between the two layers of glass. In this project, I have used man made "sea glass" in small round shapes. The packages of this type of glass come in variegated colors, or clear. I chose colors of the sea for my project.
-
Step 3
add glass piecesAdd a layer of glass pieces to the bottom of the large glass container. The idea will be to allow the smaller container top edge to be in line with the large container's top edge.
-
Step 4
Center the small containerInsert the smaller glass container into the larger one and center it.
-
Step 5
add glass piecesAdd the glass pieces in around each side between the two glass containers. Do this evenly on all four sides; adding pieces to each until all sides are filled. Be sure to keep the small container centered.

Step 6
tea lightsChoose tea lights or votive candles to match your layered glass candle holder !
-
Step 7
Candelight glow !Wrap your newly created candle holder in clear gift basket wrap (it's too lovely to cover up!) and add a beautiful ribbon. OR, light it in the evening and enjoy it's beauty ! (This one was made as a gift. It might not make it that far......)
