How to Put on a Greek Toga

A Greek toga is a quick costume. It's also a favorite requirement for many themed parties. This outfit is simple to assemble. Although thicker material can be purchased for this project, a bed sheet will always do the trick. Though a traditional toga would not enlist the help of a safety pin, it is helpful to make sure the fabric stays in place.

Things You'll Need

• Bed sheet
• Safety pin
• Cording

1. Fold the sheet longways, holding it up against the wearer's body. The bottom of the sheet should just touch the floor when the folded top is held against the chest of the wearer.

2. Hold the top right corner of the sheet against the center of the wearer's back. Wrap the sheet around the wearer about 1.5 times. Wrap it until the cloth is in front of the left shoulder.

3. Drape the material over the left shoulder and pull the end of it diagonally across the back. Tuck the tail of the material into the top of the wrapped cloth. Secure it with a safety pin.

4. Tie a cord or other rope-like material around the wearer's waist if tripping is a concern. Blouse the material over the cord until the toga is the desired length.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not plan on doing a lot of dancing in the toga. That is, it's not recommended unless you want to risk losing it!
