Sarah Palin arrived on the presidential campaign scene with style, distinguishing herself with her hairdo. Although her updos are often popular with the younger set, many older people mistakenly think they’re outdated. Sarah Palin wears several types of updos, but this is one of the easiest.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Brush
  • Large barrette or hair clip
  • Rat-tail comb (optional)
  • Hairspray (optional)
  1. Step 1

Brush your hair thoroughly. Pull the hair back into a ponytail at least a couple of inches above the nape of your neck. Don’t put a rubber band around the ponytail.

  2. Step 2

Twist your ponytail with the tail sticking upward. If you have long hair you may have to tuck the end of your ponytail down under the twist. Secure the twist with a large barrette or hair clip that’s large enough to accommodate your thickness of hair.

  3. Step 3

Pull some ends of hair out of the top of the twist and curl them with a curling iron. If your hair is long, you can just pull the hair segments partially out of the twist. Arrange the pieces of hair attractively around the top of the twist and secure them with bobby pins if needed.

  4. Step 4

Grasp small segments of hair on the crown of your head and pull upward on them to provide lift to the hairdo. You can also use a rat-tail comb for this.

  5. Step 5

Spray the ends of the hair with hairspray to help hold them in place. If you have bangs, part them to the side like Sarah Palin.

Tips & Warnings
  • To complete the Sarah Palin look, wear some clear, frameless-lens glasses.
