Things You'll Need:
- Plastic jello mold
- Plastic spoons
- Large serving tray
- Lemons
- Ice
- Oysters
- Chocolate covered spoons
- Pot of coffee
- Pot of hot chocolate
- Creamer
- Sugar
- Whip cream
- Chocolate shavings or sprinkles
- Coffee cups and saucers
- Wax paper
-
Step 1
Fill a round plastic jello mold (the kind that has a hole in the middle) with water. Place the mold in the freezer overnight so that it freezes solid.
-
Step 2
Place your plastic spoons and tray in the freezer for at least a few hours before your dinner party so that they are good and cold.
-
Step 3
Cut up some fresh lemons into squeezable wedges.
-
Step 4
Take your frozen jello mold out of the freezer right before you plan on starting to serve the food. This is an important part. Place it in a pan of warm water until the sides start to separate from the ice.
-
Step 5
Take the large tray out of the freezer and turn the jello mold upside down gently in the center of it. Shake the mold a little and the ice should come out easily. Fill the center of the mold with your cut up lemon wedges. Pour a coating of ice chips around the mold, enough to cover the bottom of the tray.
-
Step 6
Shuck a batch of fresh oysters. Place one oyster on each of your plastic spoons and lay it on the ice in a circle around the mold. Serve immediately.
-
Step 1
Make some chocolate covered spoons ahead of time for your dinner party. Make sure to make extras because your guests are guaranteed to want more than just one!
-
Step 2
On a tray in the center of the table, place your coffee pot along with a pot of fresh hot chocolate. Also put an array of garnishing options such as creamer, sugar, whip cream and chocolate shavings or sprinkles.
-
Step 3
Place the right amount of coffee cups with saucers around the tray--one for each guest to start.
-
Step 4
Lay a chocolate covered spoon on the side of the saucer, beside the cup. Put the extras on the tray next to the other garnishes on some wax paper to prevent them from sticking.
-
Step 5
Let your guests have fun creating their own perfect cup of coffee!
