Simple steps to increase traffic to your blog

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Domain Name
  • Hosting
  • Blog Scipt
  • Content
  1. Step 1

Participate at related blogs & forums - Use google blogsearch to find blogs about your niche. Chances are, there are already blogs out there that are targeting your niche so don't despair, take full advantage of their traffic and comment on their blogs showing your expert knowledge in this field. Leave a link and then watch the traffic redirect to your site

  2. Step 2

Cover topics that need attention - In every niche, there is always a topic that needs attention or hasn't been recognised yet. Find out what that is and write about it. Answer people's problems and you will generate plentiful traffic to your site

  3. Step 3

Write articles that linkbait - Linkbaiting is when you write content that is timely and valuable, so much so external sites start linking to your content.

Top 10 lists are great linkbait style content, also video's and offers are also great link bait strategies

  4. Step 4

Invite Guest bloggers - Find a well known blogger in your field and ask them if they can contribute a post to your blog. By doing this, you can gain a few more readers.

Also invite bloggers that have a unique angle on something related to your niche

  5. Step 5

Get links... but GOOD links! There are hundreds of pages and resources out there that you can read in regards to what counts as a good link. Generally you want your links to be relevant to your site. Therefore they are using the keywords you are using to put it simply. A link is basically a vote for your site so maximise the value of that vote by getting sites that have a high page rank score

on 9/11/2009 Bookmark worthy. It seems a blog about 'Blogging' might generate traffic. Maybe I should try and find one to get started.
