Complement a magical costume with fairy makeup. The look will be one of illusion, playfulness and innocence. Use a light hand when applying the fairy makeup, as it can be easily overdone. When wearing a complete fairy costume, it will be easy for people to understand your costume without overloading your face with too much product.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Glitter gel
  • Pink eye shadow
  • Pale pink lip gloss
  • A neutral lip liner
  • Pink blush
  • White face powder or baby powder
  • Large cosmetic puff
  • Face moisturizer
  1. Step 1

Apply a face moisturizer to a clean face. The moisturizer will help the make up sit and set properly. It also nourishes the face.

  2. Step 2

Brush on pink eye shadow on the eye lid in one solid sweep. Use your finger or a make up brush to apply the shadow. For a woodland fairy, the pink eye shadow may be substituted with green eye shadow. Apply glitter gel that is safe for eyes to the skin between the eyelid and the eyebrow.

  3. Step 3

Apply pink blush to the apples of the cheeks. The blush adds a fresh, innocent look to the fairy make up. A gel blush works the best, but any powder blush will work.

  4. Step 4

Outline the lips with a neutral lip pencil. Fill in the lips with the same pencil. Coat with a shiny lip gloss. The lip gloss could be tinted in a pale pink, or it could have glitter in it.

  5. Step 5

Blend the glitter gel lightly over the entire face. The overall glitter will give the fairy make up a subtle glow and shine in the light.

  6. Step 6

Finish the entire look by gently dotting on white face powder or baby powder with a large make up puff. The powder will help keep the fairy make up in place.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use any color that is right for you, in place of pink.
  • Focus on face and the eyes more than the lips.
  • Loose cosmetic glitter may be added to any liquid eye shadow.
  • Do not overdo the lips.
  • Do not use craft glitter on your face.
