This is the really sticky glue that kids love. You can use it with paper and fabric. Also consider using homemade sticky paste on project that include craft sticks and felt! It's a very simple item to make, and it's versatile. You can add much life to your child's playtime with these few simple steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 6 tbsp. Corn Starch
  • 8 tbsp. Ice Cold Water
  • 4 cups Boiling Water
  • 2 Small Plastic Squeeze Containers (old ketchup or squeeze mustard bottles are great)

Step1
Put the cold water into a large bowl.
Step2
Add the corn starch. Stir until well mixed.
Step3
Stir constantly while pouring. You should pour the paste mixture a little at a time into the boiling water.
Step4
Watch the paste. The paste will get thick and transparent as it cooks. When it gets to a nice thick and clear consistency, take it off the heat.
Step5
Let it cool. This will not take long. Simply slowly stick a finger near the mixture. When it is completely cool, you'll be able to comfortable touch your finger to the mixture.
Step6
Pour the paste into one or two plastic squeeze bottles.
Step7
Write a label out on the bottle, and your kids are ready for some fun.

Tips & Warnings

  • This works as well as store bought glue for most projects, and it costs a whole lot less!
  • This is sticky--messy--so always give kids a drop cloth with it.
