The decorative nature of the full-length mirror is often underestimated. Families fill their homes with paintings, wall hangings and photographs, but they often forget mirrors. Mirrors are some of the easiest and most beautiful ways to decorate a home. What's more, they are usually much less expensive than a fancy print or painting. To maximize the beauty of your full-length mirrors, it is important to know how to decorate with them. Here are five steps you can take to decorate with a full-length mirror.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Strategically place a mirror across from a window to reflect more natural light into the room.

  2. Step 2

Place two mirrors in a room on opposite walls. This gives the illusion that the room is larger than it is.

  3. Step 3

Locate a mirror at the entrance of your home. It is a nice decorative accent and gives you the chance to glance at your reflection before you leave and when you come home.

  4. Step 4

Fix a mirror at the end of a hallway to make the corridor look much longer.

  5. Step 5

Hang two full-length mirrors on a wall side-by-side and attach curtains to the wall, giving the illusion of a real window.

Tips & Warnings
  • Mirrors on opposite walls in your dressing room allow you to glance at yourself from the front and the back.
  • Sometimes, full-length mirrors are not the best-size mirror for your space. Experiment a bit.
