Step 1
Begin with a clean palate, washing your face with a gentle cleanser and applying a light moisturizer. If you have oily skin, you can help to cut down on shine by using facial toner after washing and before applying your moisturizer.
-
Step 2
Apply foundations, highlighting powder and under eye concealer before you do your eyes, making sure that all of your products are well blended. Choose three colors of eye shadow. The first should be white or a very light cream, the second should be a middle tone and the third a very dark color for creating depth and shadow.
-
Step 3
Create your base by applying a light or cream colored shimmer shadow to your eyelids, working from the lash line all the way up to the eyebrows. Apply the powder generously, working it well into the skin. To add to your dramatic look, add a very light blushing of shimmery powder to the lower lash line, beginning at the inner corner of your eye and blending to the outer corner.
-
Step 4
Use a middle tone eye shadow for your lid, blending well from the lash line to the eye crease. Using an angled eye shadow brush, add depth to your eyes by applying the darkest color shade, beginning at the crease and working with just the width of your angled brush above the crease. Start with just a light powdering on the brush, adding more as necessary and blending into your other colors.
-
Step 5
Select a dark eye liner pencil, beginning the line just beyond and slightly above the outer corner of your eye to create an upturned line for a cat's eye look. Continue the line along your lid, working as closely to the lashes as possible. Finally, apply the liner to your lower lid as well, working along the lashes.
-
Step 6
Do your lashes up right, using black, thick mascara to create lots of long lashes. Allow the mascara to dry, and then use an eyelash curler for extra drama. Finish your dramatic look for your eyes by filling in your eyebrows with an eye liner pencil.
-
Step 7
Add color to your cheeks with your favorite blush, using a color that suits your skin tone. As a general rule, the lighter your skin, the more rosy your blush should be. Smile and apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks and then blend up along the cheek bones. Finish your dramatic makeup look with a shimmering lip gloss that matches the natural color of your lips.
