How to Make Sock Puppet Eyes
After sewing on the monkey's snout, you can screw in craft eyes or sew on button eyes to complete the face of your sock puppet. You can vary the look of your sock monkey by placing the eyes in different spots.

1
Decide where to place the eyes on the sock monkey. You can put them close together, far apart, close to the snout or higher on the face for different looks.
-
2
Mark the spot for each eye with a marking pen containing disappearing ink. Double-check your markings to make sure you like the placement before you screw in or sew on the eyes.
-
-
3
Push the top part of the two-piece craft eye into one of the pre-marked spots on the monkey face. With the back of the eye in hand, insert two fingers through the opening between the legs of the puppet.
-
4
Locate the screw half of the two-piece craft eye on the inside of the puppet. Snap the back onto the top half or screw in, if necessary.
-
5
Repeat the Steps 3 and 4 for the second eye. Once again, check your placement to make sure you like the finished product.

Tips & Warnings
There are many types of eyes available for your sock puppets. You can use a matching pair of old buttons, embroider them on, or just hot glue on some felt pieces.
Don't give sock monkeys with button eyes or other removable eye pieces to small children because they are likely to chew off the eyes and swallow them.
