If you're penny wise or just pride yourself in being thrifty, you may enjoy being able to make your own aftershave. Would make a great present for the man in your life. Much more personal than just buying a bottle of aftershave.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
  • 1/4 cup witch hazel
  • 1/2 cup distilled water
  • 3 drops oil of benzoin
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup dried herbs and/or a few drops of essential oils of choice
  1. Step 1

    Combine all the ingredients in a GLASS jar.

  2. Step 2

    Store jar in a cool, dark place, remembering to give it a good shake a couple times a day, for 2-3 weeks.

  3. Step 3

    Strain to remove all the solids from your new aftershave.

  4. Step 4

    Pour aftershave into a glass container of choice.

  5. Step 5

    Keep refrigerated.

Tips & Warnings
  • Oil of Benzoin is an essential oil and can be purchased anywhere essential oils are found. It's even long reputed to keep evil spirits away.
  • Oil of Benzoin is also good for: Dermatitis & cracked skin Coughs, colds & congestion Asthma Muscle & joint pain Headaches Depression & poor concentration Tension & nervousness
