How to Make a simple deer feeder from PVC Pipe.

Build a simple pipe feeder for deer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 10' length of 4" PVC Pipe
  • 2 - 4" Caps
  • 1 - 4" 90 elbow
  • hacksaw
  • deer corn
  • pipe straping or rachet straps
  • lag bolts and socket set.
  1. Step 1

    Cut 1 length of 4" PVC 18" long

    Cut 1 length of 4" PVC 36" long

  2. Step 2

    Clean and glue PVC ..

    1. cap to 36" length (*** DO NOT GLUE THIS CAP - THIS IS WHERE YOU PUT THE DEER CORN IT. ***
    2. 36" length to 90 elbow
    3. 90 elbow to 18" length
    4. 18" length to remaining cap

    Let sit and cure.

  3. Step 3

    Use hacksaw or sawsall to cut 1/2 way into top of 18" length (the assembly should look like an "L")1" from the 90 and 1" from the end cap on the 18" length.

    Finish cutting horizontally connecting the 2 cuts above and remove the section

  4. Step 4

    paint camo.

    and use 2 rachet straps to strap to tree.
    Fill with deer corn from the top cap that was not glued

    you could also use pipe strap and lag screw into the tree. (Be Nice, use the rachet strap and besides if you want to move it , it just makes it easier)

Tips & Warnings
  • you could use a cabinet knob on the top cap to make it easier to get off

on 2/17/2009 Great article. The deer look very fat and happy with the feeder... I should have thought of that when I used to hunt on our property when I lived in Oregon... Could have had the deer in one spot eating all year around to be just sitting there waiting for me come hunting season..... But my mother in law has deer on her property, doesnt allow hunting but I bet she would love to feed the deer this way!

on 7/19/2008 This is great, I have used this many times at my hunting camp, But we can not attach them to the tree, We use bunge cords.
