How to Find a Niche Market for Ebay Sales

If you have been thinking about selling on eBay, you might be wondering what you are going to sell. Many people find a niche market and generally sell only one type of merchandise. Follow these steps to find a niche market and a product to sell that will work and be profitable for you.

1. Make a list of all the possible niche markets that you are interested in. These should involve things about which you are already knowledgeable.

2. List some different items for each niche market that you wrote down in Step 1. You should think of 5 to 10 different items for each niche. For example, if your niche market is baby clothing, you might choose shoes, jackets, hats, pants and shirts.

3. Find out the price that you would pay for each item and how much you think you could sell it for. Remember to factor in taxes and shipping costs.

4. Register a free account with eBay and make sure you have logged into the website. Search for completed auctions for the things you are considering selling. Remember to check quality, price and location of the items. Look to see if one of the products seems to be selling better than the rest.

5. Try selling the items that you think will do well on eBay on a trial basis. Just buy 5 to 10 to begin with and see how they sell. Compare your total profit against how much time it took you to earn it.

6. Continue selling those products if they proved to be successful. If not, then start over at Step 1 with different niche markets that you think may have potential.
