    Making a Bumblebee

  1. Step 1

Buy a package of super-long, skinny balloons and a package of regular long balloons.

  2. Step 2

Take a clear balloon and inflate it, leaving a couple of inches uninflated at the end. Tie a knot to prevent air from escaping.

  3. Step 3

Grab the ends of the clear balloon and tie them together, forming a circle. Push two sides of the circle together and twist about three times, forming the wings of the bumblebee.

  4. Step 4

Inflate a yellow regular long balloon, leaving a couple of inches uninflated at the end. Tie a knot to prevent air from escaping.

  5. Step 5

Measure about 3 inches from the knot and twist about three times, forming the head and body of the bee. The uninflated piece at the bottom will be the stinger.

  6. Step 6

Join the wings to the body and twist together. Arrange the pieces to give a proper bumblebee appearance and draw some black stripes on the body.

  7. Making a Hummingbird

  8. Step 1

Buy super-long skinny balloons and regular long balloons.

  9. Step 2

Take a regular long pink balloon and inflate it, leaving a couple of inches uninflated at the end. Tie a knot to prevent air from escaping.

  10. Step 3

Go down from the uninflated section, measure another 3 inches and twist about three times, forming the head and body of the hummingbird. The uninflated piece on the end of the small bubble will be the beak of the hummingbird.

  11. Step 4

Take a blue balloon and inflate it, leaving a couple of inches uninflated at the end. Tie a knot to prevent air from escaping.

  12. Step 5

Grab the ends of the blue balloon and tie together to form a circle. Push two sides of the circle together and twist about three times, forming a figure-eight for the wings of the bird.

  13. Step 6

Join the wings to the body and twist together to finish the hummingbird.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a hand balloon pump to inflate the balloons. It's a lot cheaper than an air tank.
