A vision board is also sometimes called a Treasure Map or a Creativity Collage. Usually made on a poster board you fill it with pictures taken from magazines and other sources. The pictures on the vision board should reflect your life goals; who you want to become, where you want to live and what you want to have in your life. This is a great activity to do with kids.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Discuss the idea behind a vision with the kids. Talk about what goals are and some examples of pictures that might belong on a vision board.

  2. Step 2

Play soft music quietly in the background to help the kids relax for the activity.

  3. Step 3

Put out a stack of magazines in an assortment of different topics for the kids to look through and cut pictures out of for their vision board. Each kid will also need a pair of scissors.

  4. Step 4

Glue the pictures onto the board using rubber cement. Do not use a white school glue as that will cause the pictures to ripple from the wet glue and they will not dry flat. Have each child leave a blank space in the middle of their vision board large enough to hold a photograph. They can add words to their board using markers if they wish.

  5. Step 5

Take a picture of each of the children.

  6. Step 6

Have each kid paste the picture of himself in the center of his vision board. This is an optional part of a vision board but it makes a strong impact on the project.

  7. Step 7

Hang the vision board in a place that it will be seen daily as a reminder of goals of dreams.
