You can make so many things with origami, the art of folding paper. All you need is paper, some time and patience. Here are some instructions for making a paper lily and its leaves. Make several of these out of different colored paper to create a beautiful bouquet.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start with a sheet of square paper and fold it in half. Open the sheet back up and fold it in half the other way to leave 2 creases that cross in the middle of the paper. Take each corner and fold them to the center of the sheet of paper, forming a diamond shape.

  2. Step 2

Fold the new corners to the center line of the diamond to form a smaller square. Turn the paper over and fold the corners into the middle again to form another smaller diamond shape.

  3. Step 3

Take just the tips of the corners and fold them down toward the center of the paper. Then turn the paper over again.

  4. Step 4

Hold onto the folded tips and turn the 4 facing flaps inside out. Take the remaining folded pieces and turn them inside out as well. This is your origami lily. Proceed to Step 5 to add leaves to finish your lily project.

  5. Step 5

Use another square piece of paper for the leaves. Fold it in half to form a vertical crease. Align each side edge with the middle line and fold them into place.

  6. Step 6

Fold the paper in half horizontally and again vertically. Pull the 2 inside pieces of paper out and fold the whole sheet into an inverted "V" shape. Fold the 2 outside corner tips back.

  7. Step 7

Repeat Steps 5 and 6 to make additional origami leaves and glue them to your completed lily.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use care when you fold the paper inside out or you can tear it and ruin your project.
