Duct tape has a close runner up--cloth tape. Cloth tape is extremely sticky, durable and strong. It is handy for a myriad of uses from first aid to shoe repair.       Use cloth tape to tape broken fingers and toes together. Splint the broken appendage, and then secure it to another finger or toe by snugly wrapping it with cloth tape. Do not wrap to tightly or the circulation can be cut off.

      Repair your favorite athletic shoes with cloth tape. Apply several layers of cloth tape to the affected area of the shoe. Wrap the tape all the way around the shoe for the best hold.
