How to Make a Cute Curly Hairstyle With Straight Hair

Shake up your everyday straight hair by transforming your tresses to a cascade of curls that bounce in a bob around your face. In order to successfully switch up your hairstyle, you need a moderate amount of hair experience, hair products and some styling tools. Whether your hair is short or long, you can create a cute, curly hairstyle that will showcase how your curls can highlight your face.

Things You'll Need

• Blow dryer
• Mousse
• Gel
• Clips
• Hot rollers
• Hair wax
• Bobby pins
• Headband or hair jewelry
• Hair spray

Instructions

1. Shampoo and condition your hair. Towel dry to remove only the excess moisture.

2. Place a golf ball size amount of both mousse and gel into the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together and then run both hands through damp hair.

3. Flip your head over and blow dry your hair. Drying your hair in this fashion will increase the lift and volume of your hair.

4. Divide your hair into sections and secure each area with a clip.

5. Wrap strands of hair around each hot roller. Pin the rollers horizontally to your head.

6. Remove the hot rollers after they have cooled. Gently run your fingers through your hair to loosen the curls.

7. Rub a dime size dab of hair wax between your palms and tousle your curls. The hair wax will allow you to shape your hair.

8. Pin your curls near your neckline with bobby pins, if your hair is longer than chin length. The bounciness of the curls will be emphasized in a bob hairstyle. Pin curls all around your head to shape the simulated curly bob.

9. Dress up your curls with either a headband or piece of hair jewelry. Once your hair is completely styled, spray with hairspray.
