A Welcoming Shower is when a baby shower takes place after the infant is born. It is therefore important to mention the baby's arrival within the shower invitation, even if he does not attend the shower.
Mother and Baby
A typical invitiation will mention the baby as well as the mother. For example, "Please join us for a baby shower honoring Sarah & Baby Joey On June 3rd at 1 p.m. at Sal's Italian Restaurant, 33 Oak Hill Road, Boston.
Hosted by: her sister Julia Browne RSVP: 617-555-5555
Registered: Babies R Us.
An example from a couple could read:
"Join us for a couples baby shower honoring Kate and Michael's new arrival, Meghan Rose on March 18 at 2 p.m. Imperial Chinese Restaurant, San Francisco. Address, telephone number.
According to Emily Post you should include the adoptive child's age and clothing size on the invitation to help guests with their gift giving. "A long and challenging journey has come to an end, Come celebrate the new one that is just to begin. Join us for celebrating the new baby adopted into the (parent's names) family and our hearts."
