Trend to Try: Printed Shorts Three Ways (Palm Shorts)

Printed shorts are running rampant in stores nationwide, with hundreds of options to choose from for every style. There are multiple ways to style them without looking like you’re wearing boxers, so here are a few examples to get you to try this fun trend!

Trend to Try: Printed Shorts Three Ways (Palm Shorts)

1) Use black and white as neutrals: You can play around with black and white to complement the louder print of your shorts. It can be a great way to tie everything together. I used a black and white tee, black sandals, and a panama with black trim to integrate the look.

2) Pair unlikely patterns together: Stripes are a safe pattern to mix with just about any print. I used black and white stripes with black and white patterned shorts for a casual sporty look. (Sneakers are always a comfortable perk to be able to work into any outfit!)

3) Wear with a similar solid: Similar to my post on styling florals, pull out a color from the pattern and wear it as a solid color on top. In this example I pulled out the mint tone and paired it with a mint tunic blouse and similar colored sandals. It’s a monochromatic look that is dressy yet functional. Check out another take on the monochrome look with pastels.

Tried any fun patterned shorts lately?? I found all of these pictured at ZARA! Have fun pattern hunting!
