Oil Maintenance Schedule

Tecumseh recommends checking the oil before each use. Oil should be changed after the first two hours of operation and after every 25 hours from then on.

Check The Oil

Place the machine on a level surface. Clean any dirt or debris away from the dipstick/oil cap located at the top of the oil fill tube on the right side of the engine. Remove the dipstick/oil cap and wipe the dipstick clean. Reinsert the dipstick and tighten the oil cap securely. Remove the dipstick again and read the oil level. Top up with recommended oil to bring the level to the "Full" mark on the dipstick.

Change The Oil

Clean dirt away from the oil drain plug at the bottom front of the engine crankcase. Place a pan under the plug and remove the drain plug and the oil fill cap on top of the engine. After oil has drained, replace the drain plug and tighten securely. Fill the crankcase with the recommended oil. Replace the oil fill cap.
