Keep your own fingerprint or a loved one's fingerprint wrapped around your finger by creating a one-of-a-kind fingerprint ring. These rings can be beautiful keepsakes and a symbol of affection, but they can also keep your jewelry unique to you. With a few tools and some oven bake clay found at an arts and crafts store, you can create any type of jewelry from a ring to a bracelet to a necklace.
Things You'll Need
- Oven bake clay
- Metallic spray paint
- Clear acrylic sealer
- Baking pan
- Parchment baking paper
Roll a thick piece of oven bake clay into a ball with your hands.
Use a needle to cut a circle out of the middle of the ball, large enough to fit your finger through.
Shape the remaining portion of the the clay to form a ring with a wide band.
Press your finger into one side of the band to form a fingerprint.
Cover a baking pan with parchment paper and place the clay ring onto the foil.
Bake the ring following the directions on the oven bake clay package.
Let the ring cool for approximately 30 minutes. Use a metallic spray paint if you desire the appearance of metal. If not, leave the ring plain.
