  • Vegetable oil

  • Garlic salt

  • Basil

Leg quarters are a meaty part of the chicken, and are sided well with mashed potatoes and green beans. For cost, taste, and ease of preparation, broiled chicken leg quarters are a lower fat meal choice that top the list.

Step 1

Remove chicken from the bag, and lay pieces side by side in a roasting pan. Wash your hands with soap and hot water after handling raw chicken.

Baste chicken with a thin layer of vegetable oil, and lightly sprinkle each piece with garlic salt and basil.

Set to broil

Place in broiler 6 inches from heat source. Broil leg quarters 10 minutes on one side, then flip chicken, sprinkle more seasonings, and place back in broiler. Cook for approximately 10 more minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165 degree Fahrenheit.

Tip

Baste with hot sauce for spicy broiled chicken leg quarters.
