Things You'll Need

  • Garment box

  • Colorful tissue paper

  • Pencil

  • Gift

When giving a gift to someone, the presentation can be as important as the gift itself. While the gift will be most appreciated, the act of unwrapping a gift that is neatly and attractively put together adds to the anticipation and excitement. If the gift is the picture, the wrapping is the frame, and should make the gift look good. Whenever you are placing a gift in a box, proper use of tissue paper adds a nice touch.

Step 2

Use a pencil to make a small mark at the top and bottom of the box. Set the box aside.

Step 3

Fold the top edge of the paper down, lining the fold up with the pencil mark. Be sure the fold goes straight across. Make a crease gently with your finger.

Step 4

Fold the bottom edge up, meeting the pencil line, ensuring it is straight. Make a crease.

Step 5

Take a second sheet of tissue paper and fold it to match the size of the first piece.

Step 6

Place your box on the table. Take one sheet of tissue paper, with the folded sides facing up, and lay it in the box--aligning the right edge of the tissue paper with the right inside edge of the box.

Step 7

Lay the second piece of tissue paper in the box, over the first. Line it's left edge up against the inner left side of the box.

Step 8

Lay your gift on top of the paper.

Step 9

Fold one side of the tissue paper over the gift, and then the other side. If the ends of the tissue paper extend past the edges of the box, fold them back to meet the edge.

Cover your box and wrap it as desired.
