Copper pipe is used in homes to deliver water throughout the house. It doesn't rust or rot and is relatively easy to bend into shape. If you have a tap inside your home that is used to open an outside copper water pipe, you may want to connect a flexible hose to it so the hose is ready to use when needed.
Step 1
Use a ruler to make sure the copper pipe and hose opening are similar in size. If the bore of the hose is too large, it's likely the connection will leak. If it's too small you can end up splitting the hose. However, you need a very tight fit so the closer the two measurements are, the better.

Step 2
Slide an adjustable hose clamp that's slightly larger than the hose over the end of the hose using your fingers. Move the clamp a foot or so up the hose.
Step 3
Wipe a little oil on the inside of the hose using a cloth. This makes it easier to slide the hose onto the copper pipe.
Step 4
Put the end of the hose in a bucket of fairly hot water for a minute. This softens the hose and makes it more pliable.
Step 5
Slide the end of the hose over the copper pipe using your fingers. You need to slide the hose about up to 2 inches over the copper pipe.
Step 6
Slide the adjustable clamp toward the end of the hose and position it over the midpoint of where the copper pipe is inside the hose. Tighten the clamp using a screwdriver or wrench. Be careful not to over tighten the clamp, you can bend the copper pipe and the connection will leak. Turn on the tap to test the connection.
