Two requirements apply in the US and UK, and both are firm.

LEGO Insiders membership. The build is restricted to LEGO Insiders members. Non-members cannot participate regardless of purchase intent (LEGO US). LEGO Insiders is free to join sign up at LEGO's website before the weekend. The official event materials don't address whether same-day enrollment is accepted, so don't build your plan around it.

Age 18 or older. LEGO's official pages state the activity is intended for participants aged 18 and over and may not be suitable for children (LEGO US; LEGO UK). This is an adult-targeted event in these markets.

Both conditions have to be met. Membership without meeting the age requirement doesn't work, and vice versa.

The format is simple. You arrive at a participating LEGO Brand Store during the event window, build the sports car model in-store, and take the finished piece home. No purchase required. As the LEGO US event page puts it: "Adults can build a sports car and take it home!"

Each qualifying guest receives one build one person, one model, regardless of group size (LEGO US). Two qualifying adults attending together each get one build. That's the ceiling.

LEGO says the model cannot be purchased, before or after the event (LEGO US). The event window is the only path to it.

For context: LEGO ran a comparable in-store make-and-take for a Stadium model last month, with the same first-come, first-served structure (LEGO US stadium event). If you attended that one, the format here is the same.

Step 1: Confirm your store is participating

The event runs at participating locations only. Check the official event page, use the LEGO store locator, or call your nearest location directly to confirm before you go. A store that isn't participating won't have the model two minutes of confirmation now is worth it.

Step 2: Verify the date and time for your specific store

Most participating US locations run on Sunday, July 26, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The offer is valid during that window only (LEGO US). Three stores run on different schedules:

• Garden State, Paramus, NJ Saturday, July 25, 12:00–2:00 p.m.
• University Place, Orem, UT Saturday, July 25, 12:00–2:00 p.m.
• Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, CA Sunday, July 26, 4:00–6:00 p.m.

These exceptions matter more than they might seem. If you're near Paramus or Orem and assume the standard Sunday noon window, you miss the event by a full day. Head to the Disneyland Resort location expecting a noon start and you're four hours early for a two-hour window. Once the window closes, the offer is gone there's no extended availability.

The UK event runs on the same date with the same time frame, per LEGO UK. UK readers should use the same approach: event page first, then the store locator or a direct call to confirm.

Step 3: Arrive at or before the start of the window

Supply is limited and distributed first come, first served, while supplies last (LEGO US; LEGO UK). A two-hour window sounds generous, but arriving mid-window at a busy location is a real way to leave empty-handed. Aim for the opening of the window, not the midpoint.

Four things to verify before heading out:

• LEGO Insiders membership active. Have your account login accessible on your phone store staff may need to verify membership at the event.
• Store participation confirmed. Checked the event page, used the locator, or called the store directly.
• Correct date and time noted. If your nearest store is Paramus, Orem, or the Disneyland Resort location, your window differs from the default Sunday noon schedule.
• Arrival planned for the start of the window. Supply is limited and first come, first served.

LEGO has run make-and-take events at multiple points this year, and the format has been consistent. The Stadium event ran last month; the Sports Car event follows the same playbook. When the next one is announced, it will appear on the LEGO Brand Store events page check there first.
