Homemade College Men's Halloween Costumes
In college, you might find yourself booked for more than one Halloween party in the same weekend. If you don't want to wear the same costume more than once, then it's essential that you have easy homemade costume options to fall back on. You'll want a costume that is creative and funny but requires minimal expense and effort. After all, an expensive Halloween costume might not make it home from a college party in one piece. The following list will give you some ideas to get started.
-
The Second Amendment
-
The Second Amendment declares the Right to Bear Arms. Make your costume a fun play on words by wearing "bear arms" made of fur pinned around your arms, and brown mittens. You can buy a yard or two of fluffy fur from a fabric store, and write the words "The Second Amendment" with a black Sharpie on a plain white t-shirt.
Melted Snow Man
-
Soak your hair in water and wear a plaid scarf. Carry the other classic snowman elements with you: a carrot and two broomsticks. Bring extra water to keep your hair dripping into the night.
-
Burrito
-
Make your costume a salute to one of the best college meals by dressing up as a burrito. Dressing up as a take-out burrito is the easiest; simply wrap yourself in aluminum foil. Use colored construction paper as pieces of lettuce or cheese hanging out of the foil wrapper.
Boxed Wine
-
This costume is for the over-21 only, and it requires a bit more technical ingenuity. Purchase some cheap boxed wine and photograph or scan the label. Print out a giant version of the label (a bunch of small ones will probably work too) and paste it onto a box large enough for you to fit inside (try a refrigerator box). Walk around in the boxed wine, and carry a wine bottle as an accessory. You can even make a hole for a dispenser on the front of the box and duct tape a boxed wine bag into the costume.
