How to Make a Priest Costume. Priest costumes are always popular for both Halloween and masquerade parties. The best part is that you can complete the costume almost entirely of items that are already in your closet. Dressing as a priest just might be the most devilish thing you do this Halloween.

Step 1

Cut out a collar from white poster board. The collar should be approximately one inch by three inches. Cut a six inch strip of elastic band and staple the ends to the ends of the poster board. Adjust the length of the strap to fit comfortably around the neck.

Step 2

Fold the tips of the black button down shirt's collar under so that they are even with the rest of the collar. Iron the tips to ensure that they remain folded.

Step 3

Purchase a large plastic cross from a Halloween supplier. Find a cross with a long enough chain to cover your chest.

Step 4

Dress in black pants, shirt, suit jacket and shoes to make you instantly identifiable as a priest.

Step 5

Tuck the poster board priest collar under the collar of the black shirt. The elastic band keeps the collar in place. Make sure the tips of the shirt collar remain out of sight.

Step 6

Put on your cross, grab your Bible and lead the masses to Halloween fun.
