Hi, this is Jason Morgan with Muscleworx Fitness in Carolina Beach, North Carolina. Today, we are going to discuss ways that you can improve the tone of your abs and your buttocks. Well, the tummy and the tush are definitely problem areas for a lot of women, and it's one of the biggest things that they, you know, a woman comes to a personal trainer or to a gym for is, you know, they want to lift their buttocks up, and they want to tone their tummy and lose that belly fat. There's a multitude of things that you can do. Obviously, the first and foremost thing is going to be your nutrition. If you are not eating right, if you don't have a sound nutritional plan you are not going to get the results that you are after. The belly fat is not going to come off. The cellulite is not going to come off the upper thighs and the buttocks. You have to make sure that you are using resistance training so if you are the type of person that is going to go into the gym hop up on the treadmill, or the elliptical glider, or the stair master and do that for an hour or two hours and expect to look differently two years from now the likelihood is you're not going to. You may weigh a little bit less, but you're probably going to still have that soft flabby look. So we want to make sure that you have a good sound exercise routine that involves weight training, nutritional plan, and some moderate cardiovascular to help your body release the fat. Some good exercises to help tone the backside region are going to be barbell squats, walking lunges, sumo squats. Some things to help the abdominals are your crunches whether it be on an exercise ball, or standard floor crunches. Leg lifts, just focus on the slow controlled movements of the crunch. Bring your shoulders about 30 degrees off of the floor or whatever surface you may be doing the crunch on. Slowly squeezing the abs and contracting them and then focusing on the squats and lunges and stuff for the backside. Those are just a few tips and recommendations to help you tone your abs and your backside.
