Hi, I'm Amy Newman, fitness expert, creator of The Perfect 10 Workout, and I'm going to show you some rowing exercises that we use in Pilates. What you do is you pull up as though you are pulling up on a lever. You stretch out inhale, exhale down. Inhale up and round. Pull up, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale. Pull up inhale, exhale, inhale and round. Pull up, stretch up, come down with the arms straight then back up again and in a big circle. Then, you can also pretend you are oaring a boat. Rowing a boat, bring your elbow way up behind you, come up and then go to the other side. Exhale, inhale. Exhale, lean back a little bit, stretch up, inhale. Exhale to the other side. Inhale lift up, exhale squeeze your abs. Exhaling, inhaling as you stretch, exhale to the other side. Inhale as you stretch, exhale to the other side. Then, you can reach out as though you are skimming your fingers along the water. Reaching out as though you have oars, and you are rowing. Reaching around. Then, you want to go in the other direction. Exhaling, leaning back, inhale. Exhale as you're reaching out. Inhaling, exhaling. Inhaling, and then pull it up, stretch up, down, up, and around. And that's how you can put it all together and use the row exercises in Pilates. I'm Amy Newman, thanks for joining me.
