Hey, how's it going? My name is Joe Vagnerini of Aussie-Allen Surf Shop in Wilmington, North Carolina. I'm here today to tell you about choosing a pair of board shorts for going surfing. Pair of board shorts you're going to want to go for is a pair of shorts that is about at knees length and what has a drawstring on the top to tighten the shorts. As far as material goes, and length, the shorts is all personal preference. The pair of shorts I have on right now is a material called Four-Way stretch and that, which that has the ability to stretch at all angles to give you the most multiple, maximum flexibility at when you're surfing. As far as length goes on mine, I have mine below my knee because that's where I like mine. Many people like 'em above their knee because when you're standing up on your surfboard, the shorts can get caught up around your knee and hold you up from and restrict you from standing up. The water here today is about eighty-one degrees so I'm wearin' board shorts, so as it gets cooler in the fall season, I'm going to want to put on a neoprene thermal top and which that just warms you up and keeps the top upper part of your body warm as the wind and everything gets cooler. As the seasons go further, you're going to want to wear a full suit and which that is just a full wet suit which just blocks all the water out and warms whatever water gets in to keep you warm all throughout the seasons. This is what you want to go for when choosing a board shorts and surf apparel.
