Hi! My name's D.C. Knight, general manager and pro shop operator of Cardinal Lanes Beach Bowl in Wilmington, North Carolina. We're here today to talk to you about getting measured for a bowling ball. It's important to get measured for a bowling ball so that you have a good custom fit. There are two ways that I know of to get measured for a bowling ball. There's a ball fit ball which will take your thumb hole, put it in the ball, put your thumb in and find out which letter fits. When you find that, the pro shop operator will write that down, that will be what's called your span. The other way is the pro shop operator might mark on your hand using an ink pen, measuring lines, drawing lines on your fingers and sticking your hand in the ball fit guide. You put your thumb in and then he'll stretch your fingers out across the ball fit to get your span. Once again, that's important to have the correct span, correct thumb hole so you have a good custom fit on your bowling ball. And that's being measured for a bowling ball.
