"Yoga is for all ages, all shapes, and all sizes, and when we say that we mean it. So, if you're a senior often seniors find yoga to be really intimidating because, you know, they think of bendy bodies twisting and contorting themselves in all directions. But, the key to teaching senior yoga is modifications, so for every pose, as advanced as it may seem, there's always some type of modification. So, if you are a senior and you're looking to take a yoga class ask your studio if, number one, they offer either a senior yoga class or a yoga class called Iyengar. It's a very therapeutic style of yoga and it offers many different modifications and variations of the poses that may seem very intimidating. So the class, for example, Iyengar yoga, will offer props such as blankets, blocks, and straps which will keep you safe in the pose and keep you being able to do all the same poses in a safe and healthy way."
