"Hi, I'm Jan. I'm going to talk to you a little bit about types of yarn that you can use in crochet. The question really is, what can't you crochet with? You can crochet with anything, from floss to wire, to really thick yarns, to fluffy yarns, to ribbons, lots of colors, textures, anything your heart desires. The important part is, to pick the right crochet hook, and if you're choosing a yarn for a particular garment, you want to make sure that's the appropriate yarn for that garment, and also think about who is going to be wearing or caring for the garment. If you're going to be making a beautiful blanket or sweater, for a grand baby, that you know is going to get thrown into the washer and the dryer, make sure that the yarn that you select can be thrown into the washer and the dryer. One hundred percent wool and it shrinks, you'll be really unhappy. I'm Jan, and those are my ideas on types of yarn to use in crocheting, here from the Yarn Company, in Palm Desert, California."
