How to Transfer Music From Your iPod to a Computer

"Hey, it's Rokosz, your digital lifestyle expert. I often get asked the question, how do I transfer my music from my iPod to my computer? Well, it couldn't be simpler. Actually, it's darn near an automatic process using the iTunes protocol. Let me show you how that works. Once you connect your iPod here using the provided cable, and I've just got a little stand, putting it inside here in the USB port. Now, we're into iTunes here, and soon as that happens we the syncing process will begin. And the actual syncing process of iTunes is about getting both of them on the same page, so any music that you've gotten in here from any other source will automatically be loaded permanently into your iTunes library and vice versa. If you've picked up another song on iTunes while you were out or between your last syncs well, it's going to move it over there unless you tell it not to and all music that you have in here will be transferred back over into iTunes. It's an automated process. Now, if you pop it open and there's no syncing happening, or you make a change, well, you simply go down here and hit the synchronization button and the syncing process happens. Again, the beautiful part about iTunes and iPods is the automation, the ease of use. If it's on there in a song hey, it's going to be in iTunes.
