"Hi my name is David Casuto, and I am the director of San Francisco Computer Tutors here in San Francisco, California. In this tutorial we are going to show you how to make phone calls using your computer. And we are using the software program called Skype, and not only are we making calls, we are making free calls. And not only are we making calls, we are going to be making video calls, we're going to be seeing the person that we are going to be talking to. So I've already downloaded Skype, so you can download it for free from their website, at skype.com. And I need to actually make a call. So the first thing I need to do is get some contacts here, and I've got no friends. So what I need to do is do a little bit of research for my friend. So I'm going to look for him, and then I'm going to go ahead and click search directory. So before you do this you are going to need to know what their Skype name is, okay this is very important. So once you do that and you just go ahead and click on search directory. And then just like that there is my friend. All I do is click on add contact, and I write them a letter, sends, and as soon as I'm accepted then we're ready to go. So and there he is inside, I think, so Bing is now calling me, and I can go ahead and answer it or answer with video. So let's just go ahead and answer it, because now you can see how it looks like when someone is actually calling you. So let's go and answer it for the first time, and then we will wait a second. My camera comes up, there he is. Alright, so let's go ahead I'm going to go ahead and hang it up, okay. And we are still on though, now the call descended. Now I'm going to show you how it 's like to actually make the call. So I see here's Bing, and then to the right hand side you see we have call and then we have video call. Now these calls haven't cost us a dime, because we are going from computer to computer. So very simply all we do is just a click of a button, click video call. And then his computer is going to start ringing, and then as soon as he picks up, hello Bing. Alright, there he is, wave to the camera. Unbelievable, I love this. Okay, it's as simple as that. And then you will have a record of all the different calls you made, how long they were, and then you continue to add on different phones numbers. Add a telephone number, you can search for contacts, you can dial phone numbers from right here, it's great. So of course, in order to do this you are going to need to have a web cam either built into your computer, or you can buy a separate one in order to get the video. But if you don't have one you can still make phone calls, you just need to have speakers so you can hear them Enjoy it and have fun."
