"In this clip, we're going to make a simple, woven mat. You need some colorful card. A large piece of card as a background. And some sticky tape. You need to have some strips of card or paper. That's so evenly sized. And spread them out along your base card. Eight would be a good number. If you can keep them parallel to each other. That will help you to keep it an even size. Once you've got about eight going along. Just run some sticky tape along the top edge, to hold it down to the mat. And then it won't fall off. So I'm just holding that down to stabilize it. Then you get your contrasting color. And start to the top, by going over the first one, under the second. Over, under. All the way along, to the far end. And you'll see, it starts to make very quickly. A lovely pattern, over and under. Push it up towards the sticky tape. And get the next one. Now the second time, you start by going. You've gone over that one, so we go under here. Over, which ever one you've gone over here. Then go under. That's gone over. So now it's going under. That's gone under so it's going over. And your pattern spreads out a little bit. Next one, back to the first pattern. So that's over there, under there. Over here. And you just remember the pattern to alternate it. Over, under, all the way through. And if you push them up towards the sticky tape, at the top. It helps to flatten it out. And you start to see a lovely pattern emerging, of red and turquoise squares. This one was there. It's over, under, over, under. All the way along. And we should have about the same number of red stripes as we have turquoise stripes. So it will make a complete square. There we go. When you get to the end, you can just tuck them in. We wouldn't want to keep that sticky tape because that's not an attractive feature. One last one. And we've made a mat. What we could do at the end i s, take it off the sticky tape. And glue it on to the background mat. And that would then keep it, for as long as you want it kept. There, look at that beautiful pattern. Isn't that lovely? We can take off the sticky tape now. If you have some glue handy, you could just stick each one. With a tiny little blob, on to the one underneath. And that will stabilize it. Stop it falling to pieces. And complete your colorful mat. Which you could use in your bedroom or as a wall decoration. However you like. Just a little spot underneath the cards. It will just stop it, falling to pieces. Especially the corners. Stop it slipping and sliding around. And there we go. And this corner. And that will stabilize it. And if we count to ten. Make sure everything is pressed into place. We should be able to pick up our mat. And there we are. A beautiful paper mat."
