"Hi, I'm Chris Bryce with superservice.com, and I'm going to show you, how to setup an extended desktop. There's a few things that you're going to need for that extended desktop, the first of which is a video card that supports dual monitors. Once you have a video card that supports dual monitors, then you're going to want to go out and get two monitors that suit your needs. Sometimes you may want to have a smaller monitor for your main operating, and a larger monitor for your extended viewing, like the system I have behind me, or you may want to have two of the same size monitors, that's something that you can decided and mix and match on your own. I happen to use the flat panel for the main monitor, and a CRT for my secondary monitor. In order to extend the desktop, the best thing to do is, go into the personalized settings of your display settings for your computer. In order to access these settings, you'll simply right click anywhere on the main desktop, and go down to properties. When you select properties, a dialog box will come up with your display settings. This will show you the types of monitors that you're using, or the types of monitors that are connected to your computer. You want to make sure that the monitor 2 is enabled, and then select the option to extend your desktop onto this monitor. Simply click the apply button, and this will apply that to your settings. Now you'll be able to extend your desktop onto that second monitor, and operate with programs or icons, and drag them over onto the extended desktop. That's the best way to setup your system for extended desktop."
