"Hello, my name is Luis Estrada and I am a software developer. In this video I'll show you how to make a GIF FavIcon ICO. I'm using FrontPage. FrontPage is a registered trademark of Microsoft, a company to which I have no affiliation. A FavIcon is a very small image that appears in the address bar and is associated with the web site. FavIcon means favorite icon. Here ahead of image that I want to display as an icon on the address bar of my users when they visit my web site. We can use a FavIcon dot GIF, but it is better to use an ICO extension, since older browsers still look for the FavIcon dot ICO. It is preferable that your GIF image have a transparent background. FavIcons should have a resolution of sixteen pixels in width and height. To transform our GIF in to an ICO, we can download it, install an application or we can use a free service on the Web that would do it for us. An example of such a service is available at the Dynamic Drive web site. At the left there is a link for a FavIcon generator. Click on the browse button and select the image. Then press on the create icon button. The image is uploaded and created by the server. We see a preview of the new icon. Download the icon and save it in the root folder of your web site.Copy this code from the web page. This is needed to add a reference to the icon in our web page. Go to FrontPage and make sure you're using code mode. Paste the code inside the head tag. Erase the slash in the reference value because we don't need it. Save the page and open it in your web browser. The icon should appear on the left side of the address bar. I am Luis Estrada and I've just showed you how to create a multimedia web site using FrontPage."
