"The next piece of adaptive equipment we have for accessing the outdoors during the winter time are these skis made by Karhu. These skis are--can be used in replace of snow shoes or Nordic skis. They're actually--we like to call them a hybrid between the two because they're shaped like skis, yet the bindings on them are very similar to snow shoe bindings or snowboard bindings, and so they're easy to adjust to anybody using them. And because these skis are a little bit shorter and wider than most Nordic skis--which Nordic skiing is also called cross country skiing. For this video I'll be saying Nordic skiing. But they're the same thing. But these skis can also be replaced of Nordic skiing, and they just create some more balance for people with disabilities because of their wider width than Nordic skis, and their shorter length."
