"Hi, I'm Kelli. I'm an aesthetician and makeup artist at Ultra Salon and Cosmetics and I'm going to tell you how you can prevent razor bumps on the legs. One of the easiest things that you can do is make sure you exfoliate before you shave. Basically using a type of green scrub that's good for the body. And this is a particular one that's actually made specifically for shaving. It has a little bit of salicylic acid in it which is going to help unclog the pores so that you won't have any clogging or bacterial within the follicle that can lead to an ingrown hair or an infection. 'Cause basically what an ingrown hair is it's an infected hair follicle. So this is going to exfoliate. It's going to remove any dead skin that might be sitting on top of the follicle. It's also going to unclog the pores and it's also going to lift the hairs so you're going to get a closer shave. You want, also want to make sure that you use some sort of either shave gel, especially if you're really plagues by razor burn or razor bumps, you want to make sure you use some sort of shave gel or shave cream that's made specifically for people with that sort of issue. And you want to also follow up with some sort of post-shave; either spray or they have a lot of topical gels and that type of thing that help to prevent ingrown hairs from forming and razor bumps from forming. So those are some things that you can do to prevent razor bumps on the legs."
