"Now one of the things is transferring your image to your block of wood. You can draw on directly onto your block of wood, and carve that way, but I do, a lot of people have a drawing, and they'd like to use that drawing on their block of wood. And there's there's one way that you can do it that I like quite a bit. This is a drawing that I have. It's about the size of my block of wood, and I want to transfer this drawing onto here as accurately as possible. One way that you can do that is you can use a piece of tracing paper, and with my tracing paper, I am going to trace my image. Now every detail that I want to transfer to the block of wood, obviously I have to trace. You can make choices if you only want to make an outline to give you an idea, or if the nuance of your drawing is important to you, then you can trace all of the elements of your drawing. Once I have traced the drawing, and I want to transfer it to my wood, I'm going to switch the tracing paper over, and I'll be able to transfer by using the pressure of my pencil on the marks that I have just made. I'm actually transferring the graphite from the front of the tracing paper onto the block by using the pressure of my pencil. And you can see there is a transferred line."
