"OK, equipment. If you look through golf magazine or watch any TV commercials, every new club is going to solve your slice, your hook, your putting problems, going to lower your score. But if they've been doing that for the last eighty years with all the equipment advances and people still aren't lowering their score dramatically, then it really comes down to you, the swing. I really want you to think of, the equipment is nice and all that, but it's you. It's your swing, it's your ability to understand the game, and to do what you need to do. That's what's going to make you score well. Because Tiger Woods can play with clubs that are forty years old and he'll still beat most players. So, I've got a variety of old and new clubs here, and the thing that I'm most focused on is just improving my swing. Because clubs are expensive, I don't think that if I go and spend a thousand dollars and a new set of irons, it's going to make that big of a difference in my game if I'm not practicing properly. So, I may do that in the future, if I feel I've deserved it. But a very important thing to buy are comfortable golf shoes. As you can see here, these are old shoes, I've had them a long time. They're very comfortable. I have plastic cleats on them so they won't chew up the greens. Everyone used to wear metal spikes, and those would rip up the greens pretty good. But these shoes are water, water tight, water resistant. That's the thing I would advise most in your shoes, is to get water tight, water resistant shoes. Because, so many times the courses have a lot of moisture on them, even on nice days, that if you don't have water proof shoes, your feet get soaking wet and it's very uncomfortable to play. I don't wear a glove. A lot of players do. I don't. There's nothing wrong with wearing a glove; I think Tiger Woods wears a glove, he's pretty good. Probably a little stronger player than I am. But if you practice enough, your hands get tough enough, and you don't need a glove. So, also, wear a sun screen on the hot days, because you're out in the sun, you're going to get burned. Get a good pair of sunglasses. Glasses are good to practice with. When you're hitting a lot of balls, a lot of time turf will come up and hit you in the face. It's good to have glasses to protect yourself. So, that's really about it in terms of basic equipment. Get a light, comfortable carry bag, and then you're on your way, having a great time."
