"I'm Mike Quinn, been an entomologist for twenty years and we're here in Austin, Texas talking about what do lice look like. They're nearly microscopic insects that have little hooked claws that grab on to hairs or feather shafts and they're flattened and they have mouth parts that they stick in to their hosts to get a blood meal from. And they're medical important, medically important insect and so there's special treatment methods if they're on you or some of your pets. But small microscopic flattened top to bottom flattened insect that'll be burrowing in to the host or attaching on to the hairs with specialized claws. And that's how you recognize a louse which is singular for lice."
