Video Transcript

"Indoor Badminton courts are typically in a gymnasium like this one with a fairly high ceiling which allows clear shots to be made. The net is held up by a series of poles on either side of the court which are 5 feet 1 in height. The net, the badminton net is stretched across this pole and has a height at the medium line of 5 foot. In this gymnasium the badminton court is painted here with green lines. We have a back line here, which is at equal distance from the net on either side. The badminton court is 44 foot long, so 22 times 2 to counter for both sides of the court. It is 20 foot wide in the game of doubles and 17 foot wide in the game of singles. You'll notice that there are also other lines on the court. This is the universal line for singles and doubles games once the service has been applied. This service line only applies to the game of double. The service must not go beyond this line in the game of doubles. You also note a medium line here which only serves during the serve. You'll also notice a front service line which obliges to both the game of singles and doubles. When the service is done the shuttle must go over the net and beyond this service line."
