"IMovie is a registered trademark of Apple. I am in no way affiliated with Apple. In this clip I'm going to show you how to add transitions in between your project clips automatically. That way you don't have to manually go through and add a transition before each clip. The way you do that is within your Project Properties. As I mentioned before, you can get to your Project Properties by the File pull down menu, or you can hit Command J. This is the section we want to look at here, where it says Transitions. There's a check box for Add Automatically. We want to check that. The default transition is cross dissolve; we'll stick with that, but we're going to increase the duration of the transition to one second. Let's hit okay. A window appears, asking you to make a selection. There's two options; the first one is to have IMovie automatically shorten your clips in order to overlap the ends, so you get a nice smooth transition. Basically, each clip will become shortened by half the length of the transition time, since there's thirty frames per second, and we have it set at a one frame, a one second duration. Fifteen frames will be shortened at the beginning of the clip and at the end of each clip. This usually gives you the smoothest transitions. You can also choose this selection, which allows IMovie to extend the transition. You can also use this selection, which allows IMovie to basically extend the clip's duration to cover the length of the transition. This can be used if you have enough space at the beginning of each clip for IMovie to use. Now we cut, we trimmed these pretty tightly, so we're going to use this first one because we don't want any jumps or, we want the transitions to be as smooth as possible. So let's choose that and hit okay. You can see down here in your project window, between each clip, the cross dissolve transition automatically appears, and if you click on it or hover your cursor over it, you can see that transition is one second. So let's play that and see how it looks. The first one goes into the vows and rings, let's skip ahead to the end here. To the cake cutting and a shot of the wake, and then finally the kiss to end it and a fade to black. So there's our project so far."
