"Hi. You're back with Roxanne Beckford Hoge. And I've got some tips for how to dress in the early months without looking fat. The very key to survival? A rubber band. This is going to come in handy when you want to wear your own pants and you just can't get them buttoned anymore. What you'll do is instead of trying to drag this around your belly, loop the rubber band around the button, through the button hole and bring it back around the button. You could even have your pants completely unzipped for comfort and this would still hold the button and the waistband together. No danger of your pants falling off. So that's very helpful. The other thing to remember is that you're really lucky to be pregnant at a time when fashion has a lot of really flattering tops that are very loose on top. Crop tops are not in nor are they going to be for a while. Just you're going to want to watch out for hem line creep. As your belly gets bigger this is going to rise up and that'll be a tell tale give away. So what do you do in that case? What's the number one thing that'll keep you in your own clothes longer? This is commonly called a belly band. It has a bunch of different brands. It's a wide elastic band that, this one is in a really nice feeling Lycra, comes in different colors. You can use it to hold up maternity clothes that are too big and to keep on your clothes that are too small. You'll also be able to make it look like a layering piece when shirts just don't quite fit down there anymore. And instead of having a big gap it looks like you meant to do it. These few tips and you'll be able to keep your own clothes going for a bit longer. Next I'll show you how not to dress."
