"Crested geckos are tree dwelling creatures for the most part. They are boreal. So they bring a little bit more interesting things when it comes to handling. They tend to be a little jumpy. Ok, though they are calm and docile critter. They do like to jump a lot. They like to climb. So you always need to be trying to anticipate their next move. You need to watch them for when they get a little perch like that and they start to scrunch up looks like he's getting ready to jump, you need to anticipate that, and you need to try to stop it and or get ready to catch him. Because they do like to jump a lot as you can just see. So they do a lot of moving around. You want to be always gentle with your crested gecko because they are a delicate creature. They have very tiny little toes and things like that and they are very easy to injure. So you always want to be very gentle and don't ever grab or hold. You want to do more of like pushing maneuvers. You want him to do a lot of the walking, but you can kind of push him along with your finger tips and tell him what you want him to do. This is also a great technique to help stop him from jumping as much; if you keep him walking he's not going to jump. So, again you want to be nice and gentle, give him your fingers to climb on. Let him do what comes naturally to him. He's looking for tree branches, he's looking for vines. He wants to jump and he wants to climb. So, always try to anticipate your crested gecko's move because the fall from a height can injure him and you want to avoid that at all costs, but you also want to be able to enjoy handling him."
