"This is Vicki Walker for Expert Village. Today we are working on a backpack which is just about completed. We have assemble the entire backpack by putting the front and back together. We have the ricrac trim on the front, we have the D rings at the bottom of the cords where the cords need to be attached to. The casing at the top has the cords one that went in this way and back out this way. The other one that came in through this way and back out this way. So that they draw close at the top when they pull on either side. I have already fixed this set of cords to the D ring. I would show you how we did that. These 2 cords would go through the D ring on this side and I want to be sure that they are going to stay because this bag would be used many times over I'm hoping. So I'm going to sew them down with my sewing machine. I have to lift the pressure foot way up cause it is a fairly large amount of cord there. Then I would carefully sew these together. Careful not to hit the D ring cause that would certainly break a needle. Also careful not to hit my finger. That is one time through but I want to run it a couple more time just to make sure that it stays. It does not come loose and drop all of her valuables. Maybe one more time. I think that should just about do it. That is how we attach the cords to the D ring. "
